СЛОТ – Russian Soul

Where people elsewhere speak of the heart – from the heart, with all one’s heart – Russians are more likely to invoke душа (dusha, the soul). The famous ‘Русская душа’, or Russian soul, is something everyone senses but no one can fully pin down; it can be felt more than defined. СЛОТ (SLOT) captures its spirit vividly in two lines: Сначала сделаем, а думать будем потом – act first, think later – and Живём один раз, а после нас хоть потоп – we only live once, and after us, let the deluge come.
