In younger years, Владимир Золотухин (Vladimir Zolotukhin, 1990) sang and played in Cardio Beat, a band that even appeared on the Russian edition of X Factor in 2015. But Zolotukhin truly shines on his own, which he started doing soon after, under the name of Zoloto. And the scarcer the resources you send him away with, the better the work he returns with.
Compare the studio versions of Останемся здесь (We’ll stay here) and Улицы ждали (The streets were waiting) with the two below. A ukulele, the wind, and an acoustic guitar: it might sound like little, but it was just enough.
Both are from 8 Месяцев в Вегасе (8 Months in Vegas, 2019), also featured in a documentary film (Kana Beisekeyev, 2020, 25 m).
