Slim, or Slimus (Moscow 1981), hails from Centr. From his EP Место под луной (Place Under the Moon, 2018) is “Намедни”, meaning something like “recently”. Slim has his own thoughts and comments on a piece of recent Russian history – and the images are also telling.
The diligently crafted fan clip provides a brief lesson in Russian recent history. Chaos and decay are central themes; in barely 3 minutes, more of that passes than can be explained here. Boris Yeltsin doesn’t come off well, but he does do a funny dance.
The song also touches on Putin, without naming him directly: “Yeltsin fell, eighteen years passed, a feudal state, we live under a tsar” – this says (loosely translated from 1:41) Ельцин отвалился, прошло восемнадцать лет, Феодальное государство, живём при царе. Also, the refrain воровал, ворую и буду воровать (I stole, steal, and will steal) doesn’t bode well.

The official clip from Slim (or Slimus) for this song (with similar themes) was released later, in April 2019.
